I heard about that suspension from some friends and was shocked!

I don't watch much college football, but as another Irish Catholic, I'm a fan of Notre Dame.

Instead of a 'TM' why not put a 'JG' after it? :-)

So far Florida International has acted more swiftly and decisively than Miami. Miami seems to be slowly waiting to see how the world reacted, and then started handing down stiffer penalties. But if left to them, one game suspensions against Duke looks to be as far as they were willing to go.

This is just plain sad. Miami is back to being Miami. The hated-est most program in college football.

At least Comcast fired the announcer/former player/thug/color analyst

Now Jer, I freely admit that I acquired my habitual use of the aclimation "Wow" from my time spent with you. However, I am certain that it is not copywrite-able. However, I freely give you credit for educating me in the appropriateness of the word for nearly all situations.

Unfortunately, once learned a lesson is difficult to unlearn. I suspect that "Wow" will remain an active part of my vocabulary. And please, consider my use of "Wow" a credit to you and our friendship.
:D

Now, about the punishment - I think school expulsion, firing head coaches, and potential criminal investigations are in order for those who went beyond mere fisticuffs. The use of the helmet as a club or stomping on people should be beyond unacceptable.

But, my wanting people to respect the lives of their sporting opponents and behave decently even on the football field may stem from the fact that I moved back to California. I have lost that uniquely Southern prioritization of football uber alles.

Don't steal my Wow!

If Miami loses any more games, it won't be in the hunt for the ACC championship and thus the big payoff.

Nuff said.

Jerry
