I thought I was the only one that loved this song so much. I'm glad that's not the case. A few members in my orchestra (cello, piano, violin, flute, viola) did this song and it was SOOOOO beautiful. It has become my favorite ever since. Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Hi Moneybags!
I used to think that way, but I found that the carols really help me prepare for Christmas. So I start them at the begining of advent.

I LOVE O Come All Ye Faithful, especially in Latin as Adeste Fideles

I love singing Christmas Carols that tell the truth of this holy season. However, I don't like to start singing them until around now. It's just too early when we are beginning to sing them in the first or second week of Advent.

My favorite carol is "O Come All ye Faithful". I also really like "Hark the Harold Angels Sing".

I am in complete agreement with you both. Most faith filled Chirstmas carols hit me pretty good, but this one more than most.

I also love this carol, and that second verse gets me too! Because it's so plain to see "the world in sin and sorrow pining" and yet, they don't see it!They just keep rushing around after the gifts, while ignoring the Giver."Our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee" St. Augustine
You haven't lived until you hear my favorite version of this carol sung by long deceased Mario Lanza.

I am so with you on this! I LOVE this song, and tear up when singing and hearing it. No matter where I am, I really do want to hit my knees as well...although admittedly if I did so on a cold sidewalk while walking my dogs at dark o'clock in the morning while traffic passes by...well, that would be inappropriate. :-)

I pray I'll be able to hear this song this Christmas in church, but typically they do other things. I think they usually do it at the Midnight Mass, but I've never been able to go because I'm with my family.

I've never gone to a Midnight Mass and I don't seen an opportunity anywhere in sight. *sigh*

How did I get on THAT topic?
