I also think you misunderstand what it means to be a Christian country. A Christian country is one that seeks to create a government guided by justice as understood by the Church. The people of such a society see themselves as Christian and that Christianity penetrates their life. It does not mean that they make the right choices. It does not mean that all of their decisions are indeed just. By these standards, America has been a Christian nation, but is in jeopardy of losing that. Not because of the Iraq war (you Europeans certainly do get obsessed), but because because we have lost our moral compass and are descending into the moral relativism that holds Europe in its grips.
